CAMPING

Jamieson is surrounded by magnificent bushlands and is a gateway to the Alpine National Park.  The banks of both rivers provide magnificent camping sites.  Please be aware that many residents use the rivers for drinking water. Please respect the rivers by not using soap in them and ensure any toilet is at least 200 metres away.  Those who are self sufficient can choose from hundreds of campsites.

On the Upper Goulburn there is Skipworth Reserve and Doctors Creek Reserve where camping fees used to be collected by rangers, but not recently.  Beyond Kevington, there are hundreds of sites alongside the Goulburn river all the way to Knockwood and Gaffneys Creek.

On the Jamieson River, there is camping at Grannys Flat and further upstream at Wrens Flat. There are also bush camps below several of the 4WD tracks (eg. Axe, Fergusson, Mitchells) leading down from the Licola Road.  Mitchells Flat provides superb camping opportunities.  While you are down there, explore downstream along Mitchells Creek where it flows into Mitchells Gorge.

NOTE:   when camping, obey all fire restrictions and respect private property.
