COUNTRY FIRE AUTHORITY
Residents who are interested in joining the brigade are welcome to attend a brigade meeting at Fire Station in Brown Street Jamieson VIC 3723. Brigade meetings are held on 2nd Wednesday. 6:00PM in winter and 8:00PM in summer.

CRAFT GROUP
Meet every Wednesday morning about 10-ish at the Jamieson Memorial Hall.
​
Drop in and participate in a variety of creations, both for personal benefit and for charitable work. Or just drop in and have a chat.

COMMUNITY TUESDAYS
Community members often meet on Tuesday mornings to maintain or improve various locations about town, including Gerrans Reserve, Matthews Reserve, Arboretum, riverbank, clearing of leaves in autumn, maintenance of trees by STOJL, etc, etc.
​
There's no obligation on attendance but it does help to maintain a good community spirit. And it's a chance to chat and have fun while improving our little community.
SIGNIFICANT TREES (STOJL)
Jamieson's streets are lined by a great many exotic trees, many dating from the the mid-1800s. The trees are native to America, Europe and Asia and were documented by the STOJL group a few years ago.
STOJL (Significant Trees of Jamieson Ladies) drew up a self-guided walk around the major trees with a brochure and online guidance. See under What to Do

COMMUNITY GROUP
The Jameson Community Group (JCG) is a volunteer organisation similar to a progress society. Its objective is to maintain and enhance Jamieson as a model township for residents, businesses and visitors. Membership is open to residents and visitors alike for a modest fee and its Executive Team is elected annual by the the membership.
​
The JCG encourages a range of activities throughout the year, including working bees, markets, social events as well as larger events such as concerts and festivals that put Jamieson on the map.
​
Community Group meetings take place in the Memorial Hall on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00PM.
​
Note: The Jamieson Memorial Hall was built in 1883 and served as the seat of the Howqua Shire in the early days of the 20th century. For more background, visit the Jamieson & District Historical Society website here.
