Every April, the historic High Country town of Jamieson bursts into colour for the Jamieson Autumn Festival — a joyful weekend that captures everything locals love about their community and visitors fall in love with too.
A Festival with Heart
Each year, Jamieson comes alive with colour, creativity, and connection as the Autumn Festival fills the town with laughter, live music, and community pride. Heading into its ninth year in 2026, the festival has grown into one of the High Country’s most cherished community events.
How It All Began
The first festival in 2014 was the vision of three passionate locals — Freddie Leong, Peter Horan, and Chris Badrock — who set out to prove that a free, volunteer-run festival could be successful. Their idea of combining local music, delicious food, and a welcoming small-town atmosphere continues to inspire the event today.
Community at Its Core
In 2024, Kylie Russell and Fränzi Weiss revived the event after a short pause, leading a passionate team of volunteers to bring new life and energy to Jamieson. Since then, the festival has expanded, supported by Activate Community (event management) and White Frog Creative (marketing & PR), ensuring a strong foundation while allowing volunteers to focus on what they do best — creating an unforgettable experience for all.
From setting up stalls and running community games like the Gold Nugget Throw, Duck Race and Cow Poo Lotto, to welcoming visitors, musicians, and families, volunteers remain the beating heart of the Jamieson Autumn Festival. Their time, energy, and creativity make this celebration possible every year.
Looking Ahead
The 2026 Jamieson Autumn Festival returns on 18 April, promising another vibrant weekend of music, food, art, and community spirit. Whether you’re a local or visiting for the first time, you’ll leave feeling part of something special.
See you there! 🍂
